Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My condolences to Mark's family and the entire Miles clan. Mark was the center for myself and Brad Speirs on the 73-74 River Heights Cardinals. You can never have too much fun but we almost did that year! Our line also set the scoring record for that club but it was mostly driven by Mark which led him shortly to Dartmouth. I love that picture of Mark, Shutt and Lafleur. He mailed the picture to me in 1986 or so. It was a fund raising night in Flin Flon and some of the NHLPA helped out. On the back of the card he wrote: Hi Freddy! Not quite the same as playing with you and Brad but Steve, Guy and I had a great night. I have attached a few pics from Jr. Hockey Days. God Bless Mark! - Posted by: Fred Smith (Friend) on: Jan 21, 2026

  • Please accept my condolences on behalf of Ernie Wilson ( deceased) . Ernie & Mark enjoyed a close friendship & support for many years. Rest in peace Mark - Posted by: Lorraine Kovachik (Ernie’s Wilson’s partner) on: Jan 17, 2026

  • I read of Mark's death with sadness. As a retired colleague, I had the opportunity and privilege of seeing the dedication and skill he brought to his responsibilities at Marymound School. I extend my sincere condolences to his family. - Posted by: Donald Teel (Former colleague) on: Jan 17, 2026

  • My deepest condolences to Mark’s all of loved ones. When Mark first hired me to work at the school division (32 years ago), I had no idea the impact he would have in my life. No matter how busy he was, he managed to have time to chat, he even made sure I knew how to do some math correctly before I wrote a university exam! He became a huge support for my own dad (Ernie) over the years, always visiting him in the hospital, spending time to watch a hockey game with him, and sharing their love of sports. Mark spoke so well at Ernie’s funeral back in April as well. I’m sure Mark and Ernie are watching all the hockey and having a drink at this moment. May your memories bring you those warm moments of comfort when you need it the most. - Posted by: Lori (Friend) on: Jan 17, 2026
